Designing a website, you have lots of ideas and options wide open. Any mistake can make your website fall short of a successful and valuable resource.

The following lists of common mistakes need to be addressed while designing your website.

Alt and Title text:
Include alt text on every page for the images and it should not be too long. Title should be unique for every page of your website. Never include too much text in the alt and title attribute; however it should be clear, concise, and short.

About Us:
Every website should be clear about its purpose. It should include brief information about the company and its value for the visitor. Every homepage should have a link for this page. It should provide enough information so that the visitor won't be confused about the website's purpose.

Archive URLs:
Web sites change web addresses of pages when they are outdated and move off the main page, into archives. This can affect the search engine placement since links to pages becomes broken. When you first create your Web site, ensure you do so in a manner without having to change the URL.

Content Density:
Don't include too much of information at one place. Be informative about the information you provide. Keep your points short and simple. Provide the information in a section wise. Bullet lists are an excellent means of breaking up information into sections which will not drive away visitors to your Web site.

Decorative Images:
Use decorative images as little as possible since loading time becomes more. Use images to illustrate content and it should be relevant to the content.
